PROJECT GOALS

To address barriers in accessing mental health services among the Vietnamese American population in Harris and Fort Bend counties.

For this project,

Community partner Boat People SOS Houston (BPSOSH) worked with Vietnamese licensed mental health professional to culturally tailor a wellness curriculum and train community health workers to facilitate. Educational outreach was provided about the importance of mental health, the existence of long COVID, and why clinical therapeutic trials must be inclusive within the Vietnamese American community through community partners.
